Kylaq-based compact SUV: Volkswagen and Skoda companies come under the same motor group, in India both the companies share the platform and power train in their cars, Skoda company is going to launch its new compact SUV on 6 November 2024, named Skoda Kylaq, now Volkswagen will also bring its SUV in the same segment.

According to the latest report, VW will launch it in India in late 2025 or 2026. Compared to Skoda’s Kylaq car, it will have significant changes in the exterior and interior, but it will carry Volkswagen’s design language. Company sources have revealed that the development cost of this will be 25 million euros. In terms of design, changes will be made to the front side grill, front and rear bumper tailgate and interior. Mechanically, no changes will be made. Like the Kylaq, it will get a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine, but the company can also offer a 1.5-liter engine in it, with manual and automatic gearbox options.
